I am not quite sure if I have not noticed this on other campaigning politician's Facebook pages, or if Mr. Romney is doing something different. I noticed that as a part of his campaign, Mr. Romney is posting what I would consider his speeches so that people can get to know him better.
This particular morsel I found particularly amusing. It seems that Mr. Mitt Romney is having a raffle to come on the road with him for a day and you can bring a friend! If you donate $5 or more, you are automatically entered. I have to say that I think this is clever. I don't consider it to be shady clever, just straightforward clever.
Also listed are some interviews. I strongly dislike interviews with people regarding the promotion. "

This is a very interesting topic as it is timely and yet unusual. I am not as into politics as I would like to be, so Mitt Romney's Facebook page is a mystery to me. However, if he is utilizing a new source of digital communication to reach a growing population of young people, he is on the right track. I wouldn't be surprised if, someday (seeing as Facebook polls are common), we allow our youth to vote via Facebook. It would probably increase the numbers exponentially, if you think about it.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately many campaigns use media for negative advertising and not offering solutions to critical issues concerning the country. I am glad that Mr. Romney is using media to reach out to the public that will be casting their vote for the next President. Allowing people, not just the youth, to vote on Facebook or some other form of media is in our future. The electoral college will become a thing of the past and we will actually have a popular vote. Using new media will be critical in this election. Thank you for sharing this political information.

Interesting topic! I think that Romney’s approach is definitely worth it. We live in a world where social media has taken over. His ability to recognize this and take advantage of it may help promote him more than he ever could have before. Those who are into politics may take a look at this and appreciate it very much. He just has to be careful of what he posts because some people interpret online posts different than F2F interactions. I wish him the best of luck!
